Hints on the Index of Names
The
index entries have been compiled from all the single
persons, groups and companies which are mentioned on this web site.
This is in fact limited to the primary names, i.e. names contained in
titles of publications are not involved here. The remaining external links are to
be found on the “
Externe
Links 2” page.
If an
external link has been assigned to
at least one of the occurrences, it will be preserved here. All these foreign
web sites are displayed in a window of their own; cf. the
Technical
advice.
While printed indexes give page numbers as their references,
I use
short titles of the respective web pages; multiple occurrences
are marked by a + sign. The pages may be selected via the site map situated
in the right page area, which follows the order of the site map introduced on the starting page
but shows the short page titles instead. To go back to the index, click the browser
button “Back”. In some cases, more than one related page is combined to one
short title; thus, e.g., “Bücher.
xxx” is valid for all additional
documents belonging to the respective entry of the “Layout > Bücher”
page or “Stbrf.FAS-Film” for all FAS-Film pages (arranged inside the Private pages).
Of those 174 HTML files of the web site available online in April 2000,
only those 38 files have been evaluated that may contain occurrences. Completely omitted
were the guest book, the few English pages (as duplicates of the corresponding
German ones) and the link compilations (concerning broadcasting and media awards;
“Externe Links 2” is considered as an extension to this Index).
The extent of 205 name entries made a
split into
three pages useful in order to keep the loading time on slower data connections
bearable. The initials can independently from that be selected separately.
Deciding between the
code pages, I prefer
the Latin 2 in order to also display the Slavic names, which are not few,
in the original look. The only Western European special characters not contained there,
è,
ò and
ï, are nevertheless displayed
here correctly. In case of character set problems please contact me immediately.
Automatic creation
The Index of names was created automatically by the tool called PERSREG.EXE,
developed by myself. As the creation uses a special list file combining
both index entries and search entries, the manual post-editing necessary
could be reduced to a minimum. A short
description of the tool (in German only) can be found on the Profil
page called “Programmierungen”. At that very place, possibly interested users
can have a look into the more detailed operating instructions (“Bedienungsanleitung”).
